Analytics

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 1.0

What measurement exists in Indo Mail: advertiser reports, administrator statistics and the Customers list, and the first-party, cookie-free product analytics that never use message content, with retention periods.

1. Our approach to measurement

We measure enough to run a reliable service, to bill advertisers correctly and to improve the product. We do not measure people to build profiles. Indo Mail uses no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers and no cookies for measurement. All analytics are first-party, which means they are produced by our own servers, stored on our own infrastructure in Mumbai and never sent to another company.

No analytics system at Indo Mail reads the content of messages, subject lines, attachments, contacts or Drive files.

2. Advertiser reports

Advertisers use the Marketing Platform to see how their campaigns perform. The report covers a period of 7 to 90 days (30 by default) and shows, for each day:

MeasureMeaning
ImpressionsHow many times your ad was shown.
ClicksHow many times people clicked your ad. You pay for these.
Click-through rateClicks divided by impressions, shown as a percentage.
ConversionsEvents counted by your Tag Manager script, such as a completed sign-up.
LeadsEnquiries sent through Local Services Ads.
SpendWhat your clicks cost, in rupees.

Reports are also available for each campaign in Ad Manager. Leads include the name, phone number or email, and the message that the person chose to send. These details belong to the advertiser who received them.

Reports are aggregate. They never say who saw or clicked an ad. An advertiser cannot see a person's identity, device, location or email.

3. Tag Manager: cookie-free conversion counting

To count conversions, an advertiser places one small script on their own website. When the page loads, or when you call the tag function for a named event, the script sends a very small message to Indo Mail with only the event name. The message has no cookie, no identifier, and no personal data. On the server we add one to the count for that event, for that day.

Because nothing identifies the visitor, we cannot tell whether two events came from the same person. This is deliberate. It means counts are simple totals, and it also means a visitor cannot be tracked across sites.

4. Administrator statistics

Administrators of Indo Mail can see operating statistics for the service. These help us keep the service healthy and answer questions from regulators. They include:

These are counts. They do not show what is in any message.

5. The Customers list

Administrators can open a Customers list of all accounts. It shows, for each account, the name, address, mobile number, recovery email (if given), account type, company, status, whether 2-Step Verification is on, storage allowance and use, sign-up time, IP address and device, the last sign-in time and IP address, sign-ins and failed sign-ins in the last 30 days, and the number of messages stored (a count only). Administrators can download the list as a CSV file and open a customer's sign-in activity, which lists recent events with time, IP address and device.

6. Product analytics

To learn which features people use, we count simple events on our own servers, such as "a message was sent" or "the search box was used". These counts have these properties:

7. Sign-in history

Every account owner can open Settings and then Sign-in history to see their own recent sign-ins: the time, the IP address and the device or browser. If you see a sign-in that is not yours, change your password and turn on 2-Step Verification. Administrators of a business domain can view the history of people in their company.

8. How long we keep it

We keep data only as long as we need it.
