Indo Maps: privacy and terms
Indo Maps is part of Indo Mail, run by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED. It is for places search and saved locations. This page explains, for Indo Maps only, what it keeps and the extra rules that apply. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Privacy notice
What Indo Maps keeps
- The places you save, with their name, address, note and position.
- What you search for is sent to the map service for that search only; your searches are not kept in your account.
Who can see it
- You.
- Indo Mail staff do not look at your content, except when you ask us for help, to stop abuse, or when the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Saved places stay until you delete them.
- If you close your Indo Mail account, everything this app keeps is deleted 30 days later (a grace period in case the closure was a mistake or a hacker). Copies in our backups are overwritten within 35 days after that.
- Some records are kept longer only where the law says so, for example invoices (8 years) and sign-in records (1 year). See the Data Retention Policy.
Your choices
- Delete saved places at any time.
- Your browser asks before sharing your location; you can say no.
- All of Indo Maps's settings are in one place: Indo Maps settings.
Where it is kept
- Your data is kept on Indo Mail servers in India. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Questions
Write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@indoemail.in. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your data, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 allows.
Additional terms
These terms apply when you use Indo Maps. They add to the Indo Mail Terms of Service. If the two differ, these terms apply to Indo Maps.
- Maps and directions are a guide. Check road signs and local rules; we are not responsible for routes that turn out to be wrong.
- We keep improving Indo Maps and may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important, we will tell you in advance where we can.
