Indo Notes: privacy and terms
Indo Notes is part of Indo Mail, run by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED. It is for notebooks, checklists, drawings and voice notes. This page explains, for Indo Notes only, what it keeps and the extra rules that apply. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Privacy notice
What Indo Notes keeps
- Your notebooks, sections and pages, with their pictures, drawings, voice clips and tags. Pages written without a connection are kept on your device until they can be saved.
- Reminders you set on a page, and which pages you archived.
- For a reminder at a place: the place you chose (its name and position on the map) and the distance. Your device compares its own location with it while Indo Mail is open; your location is not sent to us, only that you arrived.
Who can see it
- You, and the people you share a notebook with. A reminder goes only to the person who set it.
- Indo Mail staff do not look at your content, except when you ask us for help, to stop abuse, or when the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Notes stay until you delete them. Archived pages stay in Archive until you put them back or delete them.
- If you close your Indo Mail account, everything this app keeps is deleted 30 days later (a grace period in case the closure was a mistake or a hacker). Copies in our backups are overwritten within 35 days after that.
- Some records are kept longer only where the law says so, for example invoices (8 years) and sign-in records (1 year). See the Data Retention Policy.
Your choices
- Share, stop sharing, archive or delete notebooks and pages at any time.
- Set or remove a reminder on a page. It arrives as an email in Indo Mail and, if notifications are on, on your phone.
- Set or remove a reminder at a place. Turn off location for Indo Mail in your browser or phone settings at any time; the reminder then cannot go off.
- All of Indo Notes's settings are in one place: Indo Notes settings.
Where it is kept
- Your data is kept on Indo Mail servers in India. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
- When you ask HexAI for help here, the text needed for that one request is sent to the AI model run for Indo Mail in Mumbai, India. It is not kept by the model and is not used to train AI models.
Questions
Write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@indoemail.in. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your data, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 allows.
Additional terms
These terms apply when you use Indo Notes. They add to the Indo Mail Terms of Service. If the two differ, these terms apply to Indo Notes.
- There are no extra rules for this app beyond the Indo Mail Terms of Service.
- We keep improving Indo Notes and may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important, we will tell you in advance where we can.
