Indo Split: privacy and terms
Indo Split is part of Indo Mail, run by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED. It is for sharing costs with friends and groups. This page explains, for Indo Split only, what it keeps and the extra rules that apply. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Privacy notice
What Indo Split keeps
- Your groups, members, expenses, receipts, comments, reminders and settle-up history.
Who can see it
- The members of each group see that group's expenses.
- Indo Mail staff do not look at your content, except when you ask us for help, to stop abuse, or when the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Groups and expenses stay until they are deleted.
- If you close your Indo Mail account, everything this app keeps is deleted 30 days later (a grace period in case the closure was a mistake or a hacker). Copies in our backups are overwritten within 35 days after that.
- Some records are kept longer only where the law says so, for example invoices (8 years) and sign-in records (1 year). See the Data Retention Policy.
Your choices
- Delete expenses, leave a group, or delete a group you made.
- All of Indo Split's settings are in one place: Indo Split settings.
Where it is kept
- Your data is kept on Indo Mail servers in India. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Questions
Write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@indoemail.in. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your data, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 allows.
Additional terms
These terms apply when you use Indo Split. They add to the Indo Mail Terms of Service. If the two differ, these terms apply to Indo Split.
- Indo Split keeps track of who owes what. It does not move money; you settle up yourselves.
- We keep improving Indo Split and may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important, we will tell you in advance where we can.
