Indo Teams: privacy and terms

Indo Teams is part of Indo Mail, run by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED. It is for team channels, threads, files, tasks and polls (also inside Indo Meets, under Teams). This page explains, for Indo Teams only, what it keeps and the extra rules that apply. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What Indo Teams keeps

Teams, channels, posts and replies, reactions, mentions, tasks, polls and votes, what you have read, and your status.
Files shared in a channel are kept in Indo Drive.
Webhooks: their name, who made them, when they were last used, and the messages other apps post through them. Only a scrambled form of each webhook address is kept.
Reply bots: their name, keyword and answer, who made them and how often they answered. Bots only look for their keyword in posts of their own channel.

Who can see it

Members of a team see its public channels. Private channels are seen only by their members.
A company administrator can manage the company's teams and switch Indo Teams off for the company.
Indo Mail staff do not look at your content, except when you ask us for help, to stop abuse, or when the law requires it.

How long it is kept

Posts stay until they are deleted, or until the team is deleted.
Files stay in Indo Drive after a channel or team is deleted.
If you close your Indo Mail account, everything this app keeps is deleted 30 days later (a grace period in case the closure was a mistake or a hacker). Copies in our backups are overwritten within 35 days after that.
Some records are kept longer only where the law says so, for example invoices (8 years) and sign-in records (1 year). See the Data Retention Policy.

Your choices

Edit or delete your posts, leave a team, or set your status.
Owners can rename, archive or delete channels and teams.
Owners can add or remove webhooks for a channel. Review the webhooks you made in Indo Shield › Connected apps.
Owners can add or remove reply bots for a channel. Answers a bot already posted stay until they are deleted.

Where it is kept

Your data is kept on Indo Mail servers in India. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Questions

Write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@indoemail.in. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your data, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 allows.

Additional terms

These terms apply when you use Indo Teams. They add to the Indo Mail Terms of Service. If the two differ, these terms apply to Indo Teams.

Team owners decide who joins their team and are responsible for it.
Anyone who has a webhook address can post in its channel. Keep webhook addresses private, and remove ones you no longer use.
We keep improving Indo Teams and may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important, we will tell you in advance where we can.
