Privacy FAQ
Short answers to the questions people ask most about privacy on Indo Mail. The full rules are in our Data Protection Policy.
Does Indo Mail read my email?
No person at Indo Mail reads your mail. Automatic systems check incoming mail for spam, phishing and viruses, as every email service must. Lily reads a message only when you ask her to help with it. Mail between Indo Mail accounts is end-to-end encrypted by default, so its text cannot be read even by us.
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell personal data, and we never give mail, files or contacts to advertisers, data brokers or ad networks.
Are ads chosen from my email?
No. Ads on the Free plan use the page you are on and broad signals such as language and country. Personalised ads use only interests you choose, and they are off unless you turn them on. Paid plans have no ads.
Where is my data kept?
In India, in the Amazon Web Services Mumbai region, including backups. See Know Your Data Centre.
Who can see my data?
You, people you send to or share with, and our small set of processors (listed in the Data Protection Policy) only to run the service. We give data to authorities only when Indian law requires it; see the Law Enforcement Guidelines and Transparency Reports.
Is Lily trained on my mail?
No. Lily runs on Amazon Bedrock inside India. Your text is used only for your request, is not kept by the AI provider, and is not used to train any model.
How do I get a copy of my data or delete it?
Download contacts in Indo Account → Data & privacy, download any file from Drive, or ask privacy@indoemail.in for a full copy. Delete your account in Settings → Accounts; it is turned off at once and deleted after 30 days.
How do I stop someone else using my account?
Turn on 2-Step Verification or add a passkey in Indo Account → Security, then choose Sign out of all other devices.
Who do I complain to?
Our Grievance Officer, Salena, at grievance@indoemail.in. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 7 days. You can also go to the Data Protection Board of India.
