Release Notes
What changed in each Indo Mail release, from the first version on 5 October 2026 to release 2.4.0 on 12 October 2026, with notes on known limits and what is planned.
1. Release 2.4.0 — 13 October 2026
Every Indo app now looks and works like a Google app, with more services in Calendar, Contacts, Drive and Word, and new pictures on the home page.
- Google-style apps: inside any app the top bar shows that app's own logo and name, the search box searches that app (Search in Drive, Search contacts, Search events, Search documents, Search files, Search Indo Maps), and the left column holds the app's own places — a big New or Create button, its sections and the storage meter — like Drive, Photos, Contacts and Calendar at Google.
- App launcher: the 9-dot button opens a grid of every Indo app from any screen, with a link to the separate Android apps.
- Indo Calendar: new Day view with an hour grid and working hours shaded, a mini calendar in the left column, search across all events, and guests who answer Yes, Maybe or No — Indo Mail guests from their own calendar, everyone else from links in the invitation email (signed links that cannot be guessed). The organiser sees every answer and gets an email for each one. The D key opens the Day view.
- Indo Contacts: Favourites, Frequently contacted, Labels (for example Family, Work, Clients — also exported as vCard categories), and Merge and fix, which finds contacts with the same email, phone number or full name and merges them into one without losing any detail.
- Indo Drive: search by name from the top bar, sort by name, last modified or size, and grid view with picture previews; New button for a folder, file upload, an Indo Word document or an Indo Forms form.
- Indo Word: template gallery — letter, resume, meeting notes, project proposal, GST tax invoice in rupees and report — filled with your name and today's date; live word and character count; find and replace.
- Indo Files: the left column opens Mail attachments, My uploads, Images, PDFs, Documents and Audio & video directly.
- Home page: new pictures of Indo Calendar, calendar settings, Indo Word templates, the Indo Account, the app launcher and Indo Drive, on computers and phones, and a grid of every Indo app.
2. Release 2.3.0 — 13 October 2026
One Indo Account for every app, Indo Calendar settings like Google Calendar, and contact photos.
- Indo Account: a new account page (profile picture → Manage your Indo Account) with Home, Personal info, Data & privacy, Security, People & sharing, and Payments & subscriptions — a security checkup, storage shared by every app, your plan, devices and sign-in activity, password and 2-Step Verification, recovery phone and email, and download or delete your data. The same account menu appears in every Indo app.
- Indo Calendar settings: language and region (12- or 24-hour time), primary and secondary time zone, world clock, default event length and reminder, automatic Indo Meet links for events with guests, automatic adding of invitations from Indo Mail users (can be turned off), default view, week start (Monday, Sunday or Saturday), show or hide weekends, dim past events, working hours with days off shaded, and keyboard shortcuts (C, T, J/N, K/P, M, W, A).
- Several calendars: create calendars such as Work or Family with their own colour and description, tick them on or off in My calendars, move events between them, delete a calendar with its events.
- Import & export: import events from an .ics file exported from Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar (repeated imports update instead of doubling), export one or all calendars as .ics, and a secret address in iCal format for each calendar to show it in other calendar apps (can be reset or turned off).
- Contact photos: add or change a contact's photo (made square and small on your device), shown in the list; photos are kept in vCard export and read from vCard files exported by phones.
- From phone: in the Indo Mail Android app, From phone now always copies the phone's address book directly; where a browser refuses Android's contact chooser ("Unable to open a contact selector"), Indo Contacts explains how to export a .vcf file and imports it.
3. Release 2.2.2 — 13 October 2026
Gauci is removed from Indo Mail.
- Indo Mail without Gauci: Gauci Social and Gauci Site Audit are no longer in the Indo Mail apps menu, launcher, app list or download page, and indoemail.in/gauci now forwards to gauci.in. Gauci is a separate product with its own server, accounts and Android app at gauci.in.
- Gauci Android app 1.1.0: opens gauci.in instead of indoemail.in.
- Separate Indo apps: 27 Android apps besides Indo Mail (the Gauci Site Audit app moved to Gauci).
4. Release 2.2.1 — 12 October 2026
Gauci becomes a fully separate product on its own server process, and Indo Wallet saves your mobile number and bank account.
- Gauci on its own: Gauci runs as its own server (the "gauci" service) with its own database, files, sign-in secret and accounts — a Gauci ID is not an Indo Mail address and has no mailbox. gauci.in is served by it as soon as the domain's DNS points to the server (3.6.183.78); until then indoemail.in/gauci keeps working, and once gauci.in is live, indoemail.in/gauci forwards there.
- Gauci policies: its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at gauci.in/legal/gauci-terms-of-service and gauci.in/legal/gauci-privacy-policy; the GauciBot page no longer refers to Indo Mail.
- Indo Wallet — same number: the wallet uses your account's mobile number by default ("Same as my account number"), or another number you enter; mobile wallets you add start with that number.
- Indo Wallet — saved bank account: account holder, bank, branch, account number (typed twice), IFSC, account type, IBAN and SWIFT are saved once, checked (IFSC and IBAN formats) and used for every bank-transfer payment request. The account number is stored encrypted and shown masked (•••• 5678) everywhere except to you.
5. Release 2.2.0 — 12 October 2026
Every Indo app on its own, Lily everywhere, Indo Calendar and Indo Word, a stronger Gauci, and automatic answers for every support email.
- App names: the apps are now Indo Mail, Indo Chat, Indo Meet, Indo Calendar, Indo Drive, Indo Word, Indo Photos, Indo Cloud, Indo Contacts, Indo Files, Indo Maps, Indo Translate, Indo Pay (Indo Wallet), Indo Travel, Indo Forms, Indo Passwords, Indo Business Profile, Indo Ads, Indo Ad Manager, Indo Marketing Platform, Indo Local Services Ads, Indo Manufacturer Center, Indo Merchant Center, Indo Search Ads, Indo Shopping Ads, Indo Tag Manager and Indo Chats Ads, plus Gauci Social and Gauci Site Audit.
- Every app separately: 28 Android apps besides Indo Mail and Gauci (package com.indochats.<app>), each opening straight into its own app with a focused menu, from the new page indoemail.in/get-apps. On a computer, each app can be installed from its own page as a separate window with its own name and icon. New-mail alerts stay with the Indo Mail app only.
- Lily everywhere: Indo AI, the chatbot and Agent Inbox are now one assistant called Lily, available from the Ask Lily button in every app. When writing help is not yet switched on, Lily answers from the help pages and opens a support case. The "give your own AI agent or script" offer was removed from the menus; developer keys stay available at indoemail.in/app/agents for people who already use them.
- Indo Calendar (new): month, week and agenda views; repeating events; reminders by email; guests invited by email with a standard .ics invitation (works with Gmail, Outlook and Apple Calendar); an Indo Meet link on request. Indo Mail guests get the meeting in their own calendar with a 10-minute reminder automatically, and cancellations remove it. "Add to calendar" appears on invitations that arrive by email.
- Indo Word (new): documents with headings, lists, bold, italic, underline, links and alignment that save as you type, a read-only share link, printing, and download as a Word (.docx) file.
- Indo Meet: companies and people can choose their own meeting link name (for example indoemail.in/app/meet/acme-sales); a name taken by someone else is refused. "Schedule in Calendar" creates the event and invitations.
- Gauci Social: channels page with Indo Chats, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Pinterest, TikTok, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky, VK, Telegram, Discord, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Reddit and Tumblr. Live now: Telegram, Mastodon, Bluesky and Discord; the others switch on as each network approves Gauci's developer app. Each post is checked against the length limit of each network.
- Gauci Site Audit: enter any domain — no verification step. Problems are grouped into Crawlability, HTTPS, Site performance, On-page SEO, Markup and Mobile, each with a plain "how to fix"; score history and CSV export. Up to 50 pages per audit (500 for sites whose owner verified them), robots.txt respected, private network addresses never fetched.
- Gauci on its own: gauci.in and the Gauci app no longer mention Indo Mail; sign-in uses a Gauci ID.
- Indo Forms: new question types — file upload (pictures, PDF, documents or any file, up to 10 MB each and 25 MB per response), phone, website, time, choose several and star rating; help text under questions; reorder questions; own theme colour, background, font, logo, business name, contact details and button text; stop accepting on a date or after a number of responses. Files are listed with each response and can be downloaded by the form owner only.
- Indo Files: open and view files without downloading — pictures (with zoom), video, audio, PDF and text — with previous and next; grid or list view; filter by type; a My uploads tab and an Upload button. Indo Drive gets the same viewer.
- Indo Contacts: "From phone" now works everywhere: in the Android app it copies the phone's address book (after you allow Contacts); in Chrome on Android it opens the phone's contact picker; elsewhere it explains how to export a .vcf file and imports it. Contact files from phones that label .vcf files differently can now be chosen.
- Automatic replies for every support email: email to support@, care@, help@, info@, contact@, sales@, billing@, privacy@, security@, abuse@ or grievance@ opens a support case with a reference number (IMS-…) and gets an instant answer from Lily with the expected reply time and the best help-page answer. Replies that keep the case number join the same case. Automatic messages, mailing lists and bounces are never answered, and one address gets at most five automatic replies a day.
- Welcome message: every new address gets a new welcome email with its storage, a five-step start list (photo and signature, 2-Step Verification, the apps, contacts, automatic reply), the list of Indo apps and how to reach Lily and support.
- Enterprise plan: ₹999 per user per month with 1 TB per user (was ₹299).
6. Release 2.1.1 — 12 October 2026
Gauci as its own app and website, and the final monthly storage prices.
- Storage prices (monthly): 50 GB free, 100 GB ₹99, 200 GB ₹149, 1 TB ₹999, 2 TB ₹1,599 and the new 5 TB ₹3,600 (yearly: ₹999, ₹1,499, ₹9,999, ₹15,999 and ₹35,999). This replaces the 1 TB ₹299 and 2 TB ₹549 prices of release 2.0.2. Local currencies follow the same ratio.
- Gauci, a separate app: Gauci Social, Gauci Site Audit, Forms and Agent Inbox with their own name, menu and look; the same Indo account and server. Web: gauci.in (as soon as its DNS points to the Indo Mail server) and indoemail.in/gauci today; installable as a web app.
- Gauci Android app 1.0.0: a separate app (package com.indochats.gauci) that opens Gauci Social; download from the Gauci page. It asks for no contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location permissions.
- gauci.in on the server: the server serves gauci.in and requests its HTTPS certificate automatically once the DNS records point to it; the state is shown on the status page.
7. Release 2.1.0 — 12 October 2026
Five new apps, six new public documents and search-engine set-up.
- Indo Forms: build surveys, sign-up and order forms; share a link (indoemail.in/f/…); answers are stored in your account, emailed to you and downloadable as CSV. Public form pages carry no scripts and no trackers.
- Indo Passwords: a password manager encrypted in your browser with your master password (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 rounds, AES-256-GCM); a strong-password generator; locks itself after 10 minutes. Indo Mail stores only ciphertext and cannot recover a forgotten master password.
- Gauci Site Audit: after you prove you own a website (DNS TXT record or a file), GauciBot checks up to 50 pages — broken pages, redirects, titles, descriptions, headings, mobile viewport, HTTPS and mixed content, image alt text, structured data, robots.txt, sitemap, speed — and gives a health score with a fix list. It obeys robots.txt and never fetches private network addresses.
- Gauci Social: write once and post to your Telegram channels now or at a scheduled time. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X are listed as coming until each network approves Gauci's developer app; YouTube does not offer posting through its API.
- Agent Inbox (email for AI agents): create keys that let your own AI agent or script read mail and, if you allow it, send and archive — with 60 requests a minute per key, revocation at any time, and a last-used record.
- New documents: Security FAQ, Shared Responsibility, UK Privacy Policy, South African Privacy Policy, How Indo Mail Ads Work, and GauciBot and Gauci Site Audit — on indoemail.in/legal and in the app's Privacy & security reader.
- Search engines: robots.txt, a sitemap of all public pages, a clearer page title and description, and Organization and WebSite structured data.
- Acceptance test: every release now checks that no page and no app code loads anything from an outside advertising or tracking company.
- Not yet: Indo Mail AI and Indo AI Agents wait for AWS Bedrock access; an office suite (documents, sheets, slides) is not built; a Botim-style wallet balance needs a licensed partner.
8. Release 2.0.2 — 12 October 2026
Lower prices than every major competitor, outgoing mail to all providers, account deletion and named Grievance Officer.
- Mail to every provider: Amazon SES production access is granted (up to 50,000 messages a day). Mail to Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and every other provider is delivered; messages that were waiting are sent automatically as soon as access is granted.
- New prices (beat Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and Zoho): 100 GB ₹99, 200 GB ₹149, 1 TB ₹299 (₹2,999 a year), 2 TB ₹549 (₹5,499 a year) a month; Business ₹89 and Enterprise ₹179 per user a month; Business Starter still free for up to 10 mailboxes.
- Delete account: Settings → Accounts and Import → Delete account; deleted permanently after 30 days, cancel by signing in; the address is never reused.
- Grievance Officer: Salena (grievance@indoemail.in). Lily is the 24×7 virtual support agent and passes grievances to her.
- Contacts and follow us: helpline addresses and Indo Mail's Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Telegram pages in the website footer and the Support Center.
9. Release 2.0.1 — 12 October 2026
Support Center with Lily, larger storage plans, read-only policies and a daily health check.
- Support Center and Lily: menu → Help & support (and indoemail.in/support for people who are not signed in). Lily answers from Indo Mail's own help pages, on Indo Mail's servers, at any time; nothing is sent to an outside AI service. If she cannot solve the problem she opens a support case. Cases arrive in the support mailbox and in Admin console → Support cases, where the team replies or resolves them; customers get the reply by email and on the Support page. Security cases and grievances are marked high priority.
- Storage plans: 50 GB free, 100 GB ₹99, 200 GB ₹149, 1 TB ₹1,499 and 2 TB ₹2,999 a month, also shown in local currencies.
- Policies are read-only: the "Download (Word)" links were removed from every policy page and from the in-app reader; policies are read on indoemail.in/legal and inside the app. Downloading the Indo Mail apps is unchanged.
- Undo send can be set from 5 to 150 seconds, in 5-second steps.
- Discarded drafts go to Bin and can be restored for 30 days.
- Scan and attach a paper document with the camera, cleaned up on the device.
- Inactive accounts: five reminders, then a personal account unused for 12 months is turned off (nothing deleted).
- Daily health check every day between 14:00 and 15:00 India time: database, disk, mail queue, backups, certificate, outgoing mail, Indo AI, Meet relay, security alerts and support cases. It repairs what is safe (stuck mail queue, missing backup) and emails the report to the admin mailbox; the result is on the status page.
- Fixed: the inbox showed an "encrypted-message.indo" attachment chip on end-to-end encrypted mail; it now shows a lock.
10. Release 2.0.0 — 10 October 2026
End-to-end encrypted email, security monitoring, a clearer home page and many phone fixes.
- End-to-end encrypted email, on by default: mail between Indo Mail accounts is locked on the sender's device for every device of every recipient (and the sender's own devices, so it can be read in Sent). Indo Mail servers keep only the locked copy. It uses the same device keys as Chat: ECDH P-256 key agreement, HKDF-SHA256 and AES-256-GCM, with private keys that cannot be exported from the device. The reader sees a green "End-to-end encrypted" note. It can be turned off in Settings → Advanced.
- Limits of end-to-end encrypted email: it works only when every recipient is an Indo Mail account that has opened Indo Mail on at least one device; otherwise the message is sent with normal TLS encryption and you are told why. Mail to Gmail, Outlook and other providers cannot be end-to-end encrypted. The subject line, the sender and recipients, the time and attachments are not encrypted in this version. A device set up after a message arrived cannot unlock it; open it on the device you used then. This is not the Signal protocol (there is no Double Ratchet, so there is no forward secrecy per message).
- Security monitoring and internal alerts: automatic checks every 5 minutes for password guessing, many new accounts from one network, sudden sending spikes, many bounces, mail reported as spam by other Indo Mail users and chat flooding. Serious alerts go to the security team's mailbox and appear in Admin console → Security alerts, where the team can resolve them, pause sending or lift a pause. Accounts with many bounces or spam reports have sending to other providers paused for 24 hours pending review. A sign-in from a new country sends the account owner an email. The checks use activity records only and never read message content.
- Profile: change your profile picture and your name from the account menu (the photo has a camera badge); HEIC photos from iPhones work.
- Contacts: import several .vcf or .csv files at once, add contacts from your phone (Android Chrome), select all, email or delete many at once, and add every suggested person with one tap. Nobody is added twice.
- Wallet: mobile wallets for Pakistan (Raast, JazzCash, Easypaisa, SadaPay, NayaPay), Nepal (eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay, IME Pay), Bangladesh (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay) and the UAE (Aani), and crypto addresses (BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC on several networks, SOL, BNB, TRX, LTC) with address checks. Crypto is not offered in countries where it is banned or restricted (Nepal, Bangladesh, China, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Iraq and Qatar). Indo Wallet never holds money or crypto.
- Privacy & security documents in the app: read every policy inside Indo Mail (menu → Privacy & security) and on indoemail.in/legal. Policies are read-only: the "Download (Word)" links on policy pages and in the app have been removed. Downloading the Indo Mail apps (Android, Chrome extension, install on iPhone, Windows and Mac) is unchanged.
- Meet: voice calls (from the Meet page or a chat), better video bitrates, noise reduction, both sides always receive audio and video, automatic reconnection, and a hint when a participant's video is slow. Calls across different networks still need the TURN relay ports opened on the server firewall.
- Indo AI: clearer message while Indo AI is being switched on; its status is kept across restarts.
- Phones and small screens: inbox tabs scroll instead of overlapping, a tidier top bar, Meet buttons fit, the Compose button no longer covers settings and forms, chat headers no longer overlap the call buttons, wide dialogs fit the screen.
- Home page: sharp new pictures (the old ones were stretched and blurry) and a gallery of 10 real screens.
- Fixed: Wallet settings showed "[object HTMLHeadingElement]" instead of the crypto section.
11. Release 1.9.5 — 9 October 2026
Sending safety.
- Hard-bounce suppression: addresses that do not exist are not tried again for 30 days (not when our own provider refused the message).
- New accounts: up to 50 recipients a day for the first 7 days.
- Both are shown on the status page.
12. Release 1.9.4 — 9 October 2026
Prices in your currency, a map that opens where you are, and a better Translate with Pashto.
- Indo Cloud prices in your currency: plans and storage are shown in the account owner's currency, for example AED for the United Arab Emirates (Pro AED 7.49 a month, +1 TB AED 18.49 a month), USD, EUR, GBP, SAR, QAR, KWD, BHD, OMR, SGD, MYR, AUD, CAD, NZD, BDT, PKR, NPR, LKR, ZAR, NGN, KES, JPY and INR. Other countries see US dollars. The currency comes from the account's country, or from your IP address when the account has none, and you can switch it. Upgrade requests and invoices keep that currency; Indian GST applies to rupee prices only.
- Maps opens where you are: it starts in your country (from your account or IP address) and moves to your exact location when you allow it, in the browser and the Android app (1.6.0). It remembers your last position.
- Translate: 75 languages, now including Pashto, Dari, Nepali, Amharic, Somali, Hausa, Uzbek and many more. Long texts (up to 30,000 characters) are translated in parts, so long Hindi, Bengali or Arabic-script messages no longer fail. Better language detection: Pashto, Urdu, Persian and Arabic are told apart, and French, Spanish, German and other Latin-script languages are no longer mistaken for English. The app shows which language it detected and tells you when the text is already in the chosen language. Translate message in Mail offers the same 75 languages.
13. Release 1.9.3 — 9 October 2026
Indo Mail for the whole world.
- Sign up from any country: choose your country from the full list (with its flag and dialling code) and type your mobile number. The country is picked for you from your device's location settings. Numbers are saved in international form, for example +971 50 765 4321 or +1 415 555 2671. You can change your country and number in Settings → Accounts and Import.
- Your local format: outside India, dates, times and numbers follow your own device's format; in India they keep the Indian style (lakh, crore, 9 Oct 2026). Your time zone is remembered, so Indo AI knows your local date and time.
- Wallet for every country: request money in any of 150+ currencies and get paid with PayPal, Wise, bank transfer (IBAN, SWIFT, account and routing numbers) or any payment link you already use (Stripe, Razorpay, Square and others), as well as UPI in India. Every request has a link and QR code you can email. Totals are shown per currency. Indo Wallet still never holds money.
- Pay someone: pay by UPI ID in India or open a payment link you were sent, in any currency.
- Privacy Policy: explains that accounts from every country are stored in India and that people keep the rights their own country's law gives them.
14. Release 1.9.2 — 9 October 2026
Indo AI now writes with you, and can use Indo Mail for you.
- Write for me: in the composer, press the Indo AI button, describe the email in a few words, choose the tone (professional, friendly, formal, brief, persuasive, apologetic) and length, and Indo AI writes the subject and message for you to check.
- Improve what you wrote: make it more formal, friendlier, shorter, more detailed or more polite; fix grammar and spelling; turn it into bullet points; translate it to Hindi, Bengali or English. Works on the whole message or only the text you select.
- Reply with Indo AI: under any conversation, optionally say what the reply should say ("Yes, Thursday works"), and Indo AI drafts the reply in the composer.
- Written summaries: the Summarise button now adds a short summary in Indo AI's own words, with the next step and any deadline or amount, above the details picked out from the messages.
- Ask Indo AI: the ✨ button at the top opens an assistant that can search your mail, read conversations, list what needs a reply, save reply drafts, and archive, star, mark read or snooze conversations you ask about. It never sends email by itself; drafts wait in Drafts for you.
- Your control: Indo AI starts only when you press an Indo AI button, can be turned off in Settings → Advanced, runs on Amazon Bedrock in the AWS Mumbai region, keeps nothing after answering and is never used to train models. Up to 150 requests per person per day.
- Meet relay ports: the server now opens the firewall ports for the meeting relay itself when its AWS permissions allow it.
15. Release 1.9.1 — 9 October 2026
Clearer sound and more reliable video in Meet.
- Video for everyone: people who join without a camera (or with the camera blocked) now see everyone else's video, and video no longer stops when someone joins, leaves or turns their microphone off.
- Calls on any network: Indo Mail now runs its own relay for meetings, so calls connect on mobile data and office networks that block direct connections. Audio and video stay encrypted; the relay cannot see or hear them.
- Automatic reconnect: if a network drops for a moment, the call reconnects by itself.
- Less background noise: on top of the browser's echo and noise cancelling, Indo Meet now filters hum and hiss, evens out voice volume, and lowers the microphone between words so fans, traffic and keyboard sounds are much quieter.
- Smoother video in larger meetings: video quality adjusts to the number of people so everyone's connection keeps up.
- Sound blocked by the browser: if a browser blocks sound until the page is tapped, a "Tap to hear and see everyone" button appears.
16. Release 1.9 — 9 October 2026
Chat and Meet are now part of Indo Mail, and Settings save correctly again.
- Chat: one-to-one and group chat (up to 100 people) with anyone on Indo Mail, including company addresses. End-to-end encrypted by default: messages are locked on your device and only the people in the conversation can read them. Unread counts in the left menu, "Seen" under your last message, delete your own messages for everyone, add people to groups and leave groups. Each person's security code can be compared to check that nobody is in the middle.
- Meet: video meetings with up to 8 people in the browser and the Android app. Start one from Meet, from a chat (the link is posted into the conversation) or from the composer (Add a video meeting link). Microphone, camera, screen sharing on computers, copy link and invite by email. Audio and video go directly between participants and are encrypted; Indo Mail does not record meetings.
- Settings → Chat and Meet: turn Chat and Meet on or off, chat notifications (they show who wrote, never the message), your chat devices, and whether to join meetings with microphone or camera off.
- Fixed: some Settings changes, such as theme backgrounds, accent colours, General settings and spam strictness, were not being saved. They now save straight away.
- Fixed (1.8.1): after an update, browsers sometimes kept showing the previous version for up to a day. New versions now appear on the next page load.
- Android app 1.5.0: camera and microphone for Meet (Android asks first, only when you join a meeting).
- Known limits: a new device cannot read chat messages sent before it was set up, by design of end-to-end encryption. Meetings connect directly between devices; on some office or mobile networks that block direct connections a meeting may not connect until a relay server is added.
17. Release 1.8 — 9 October 2026
Full Gmail-style Settings, phone backup of photos and contacts, Indo Mail for Chrome, and a new icon for every Indo Mail app.
- Settings, in eleven tabs: General, Labels, Inbox, Accounts and Import, Filters and Blocked Addresses, Forwarding and POP/IMAP, Add-ons, Chat and Meet, Advanced, Offline and Themes. Your choices are saved to your account and follow you to every device.
- General: conversations per page (10 to 100), default reply (Reply or Reply all), hover actions, Send and Archive, default text style for new messages, external images (always show or ask first), keyboard shortcuts on or off, snippets, personal-level indicators (› for mail sent to you, » for mail sent only to you) and desktop notifications.
- Labels and Inbox: show or hide each system label in the left menu; choose which inbox tabs (Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums) appear — a tab you hide merges into Primary; importance markers on or off.
- Accounts and Import: change password, two-step verification and recovery email in one place; import your old mail from a Gmail Takeout, Thunderbird or Apple Mail export (.mbox or .eml files, up to 200 MB at a time). Imported mail keeps its original dates, is labelled "Imported" with the date, and messages already in your account are skipped. Contacts can now be imported from CSV files from Gmail, Outlook and phones as well as vCard; a contact with the same email address or mobile number is never added twice.
- Forwarding: automatically forward new mail to another address. We send a confirmation code to that address first, and forwarding starts only after the code is entered. Choose what happens to the Indo Mail copy: keep it, mark it as read, archive it or delete it. POP and IMAP are not available yet; the page says so instead of showing settings that do not work.
- Advanced: auto-advance after archive or delete, message templates (save a message and insert it from the composer), unread count on the browser tab and app icon, and spam-filter strictness.
- Offline: read the conversations and lists you opened without internet, for the last 7, 30 or 90 days; remove offline data from a shared computer in one click.
- Themes: seven accent colours and seven backgrounds, plus light, dark or system mode.
- Get started with Indo Mail: a checklist in quick settings — customise your inbox, add a profile photo, import contacts and mail, and get the Android app.
- Phone backup (Android app 1.4.0): turn on in Settings → Add-ons to copy your phone's photos to Indo Photos and its contacts to Indo Contacts automatically, about every hour, on Wi-Fi only unless you change it and not when the battery is low. Photos keep the date they were taken; a photo already in Indo Photos is never uploaded twice; contacts already in Indo Contacts are not duplicated. See every backed-up phone in Settings and stop backup for any of them. It is off until you turn it on, and Android asks you to allow photos and contacts.
- Indo Mail for Chrome: a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers — unread count on the toolbar, new-mail alerts, open your Inbox or write an email in one click, and "Email this page with Indo Mail" from the right-click menu. It keeps only a limited key that can read your unread count and new-mail headers. Download it from Settings → Add-ons; until it is listed in the Chrome Web Store it is installed with Developer mode → Load unpacked.
- New app icons: every Indo Mail app — Mail, Drive, Photos, Cloud, Contacts, Files, Maps, Translate, Wallet, Travel, Business Profile, Ads, Ad Manager, Marketing Platform, Local Services Ads, Manufacturer Center, Merchant Center, Search Ads, Shopping Ads, Tag Manager and Indo Chats Ads — has its own two-colour icon, in the apps menu and the left menu.
- Known limits: sending mail to other email providers still waits for the outgoing mail route to be opened by our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services); mail between Indo Mail addresses and incoming mail from everywhere work normally. POP, IMAP, Chat and Meet are not part of Indo Mail.
18. Release 1.7 — 8 October 2026
Profile photos, free business email for up to 10 mailboxes, storage upgrades from Indo Cloud, a Gmail-style home screen and clearer delivery notices.
- Gmail-style navigation drawer (1.7.1): outlined icons and coloured "new" badges; Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums at the top, then Starred, Snoozed, Important, Unread, Purchases, Bills, Jobs, Newsletters, Notifications, Sent, Scheduled, Outbox, Drafts, All emails, Archive, Spam, Bin and Manage subscriptions; Labels with Create new and Manage labels; Indo Mail apps; Settings, Send feedback and Help. New Bills view (bills, statements and payment reminders) and Outbox (messages waiting to be delivered). Trash is now called Bin.
- Profile photo: add or change your photo in Settings → Profile photo. It is cropped to a square on your device and shown to people you email on Indo Mail.
- Plans: personal accounts stay free. New: Business Starter — free for up to 10 mailboxes on your own domain, 50 GB each, with the admin console and no ads. Business (₹149 per user per month) and Enterprise (₹299) remain for larger teams.
- Upgrade storage and plans in Indo Cloud: choose Pro, Business, Enterprise or extra storage (+100 GB ₹59 per month, +1 TB ₹299 per month). You get a confirmation in your inbox, then a GST invoice; the upgrade applies as soon as it is paid. You can cancel a request before then.
- Gmail-style home screen: quick settings (density, theme, inbox type, reading pane), Unread / Starred / Important first inbox types, reading pane to the right of the list, a Select menu (All, None, Read, Unread, Starred, Unstarred), Mark all as read, attachment chips under each conversation, and search options with new operators (cc:, larger:, smaller:, after:, before:, newer_than:, older_than:, filename:, -word).
- Translate message: open an email → More → Translate message to read it in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and 13 other languages. Translations of emails are not stored. The Translate app now also works when automatic language detection is unavailable.
- Delivery notices like Gmail: if a message cannot be delivered yet, Indo Mail keeps trying for about 5 days and sends one "Delivery Status Notification (Delay)". If it finally fails, the notice explains the reason in plain words (address not found, inbox full, domain not found, blocked, or server unreachable) and attaches your original message.
- Trash and Spam are emptied after 30 days, as stated in the Data Retention Policy.
- Documents: every public policy page has a "Download (Word)" link. Administrators can download every Indo Mail document, one by one or all together as a ZIP, from Admin console → Documents.
- API: the full API is described in OpenAPI 3.1 at https://indoemail.in/api/openapi.json (and .yaml).
- Status page: now checks Translate, Maps, Drive storage and notifications live.
19. Release 1.6 — 8 October 2026
A Gmail-style sidebar with smart views, Indo Shield (a 7-layer AI spam filter that learns from you) and AI features that run on Indo Mail's own servers in India.
- Sidebar in Gmail order: Unread, Inbox, Primary, Starred, Snoozed, Important, Scheduled, Sent, Drafts, All Mail, Archive, Spam and Trash, then Categories: Purchases, Social, Jobs, Updates, Forums, Promotions, Newsletters and Notifications, plus Manage subscriptions, Manage labels and Create new label.
- Forums tab: mail from discussion groups and mailing lists now has its own Inbox tab next to Primary, Promotions, Social and Updates.
- Smart views: orders, bookings and deliveries collect in Purchases; job alerts, applications and interviews in Jobs; digests in Newsletters; alerts, OTPs, statements and reminders in Notifications. Search with category:purchases, category:jobs and similar.
- Manage subscriptions: every newsletter, shop and mailing list that writes to you, busiest first, with one-click unsubscribe for one or many senders and an option to delete their old mail.
- Manage labels: see every label with its conversation count, rename, recolour, hide from the sidebar or remove.
- Indo Shield spam filter (7 layers): sending-server reputation, sender-domain reputation and age, SPF/DKIM/DMARC/ARC, header analysis, an AI content model, link analysis and attachment scanning. Spam shows "Why is this message in Spam?" with the reasons and a score; "See all 7 checks" shows each layer.
- The filter learns from you, without reading your words: Report spam and Not spam teach it about the sender, the sending server and the links, for your account and as shared reputation for domains and servers. Mail from a sender you reported goes to Spam next time. No model is trained on your mail. Set strictness in Settings → Spam protection.
- Summary by Indo AI: the sparkle button picks the key sentences of a conversation and lists amounts in ₹, dates, reference numbers, codes, attachments and what you are being asked to do. Each summary has "Report a problem".
- Suggested replies: three short replies under personal mail (English and Hindi), chosen by rules; never on newsletters or automated mail.
- Important marking: mail from people you write to, sent directly to you or asking you to act is marked Important, and the reason is shown. Mail with failed sender checks or a warning is never marked. Your Important / Not important clicks are remembered per sender.
- Nudges: "Received 3 days ago. Reply?" and "Sent 4 days ago. Follow up?" at the top of the Inbox.
- Privacy: summaries, Smart Reply and the spam filter run on Indo Mail servers. Message text is not sent to any outside AI company.
- Nightly backup: the mail database is copied every night at 02:15 IST, kept for 14 days on the server and copied with new attachments to Amazon S3 in Mumbai (AES-256 encrypted).
- Policies updated: AI Policy, AI Moderation and Recommendation System pages now describe these features.
20. Release 1.5 — 8 October 2026
Indo Mail now has the everyday email features people expect from Gmail and Zoho Mail.
- Undo send: after pressing Send you can cancel for 5 to 30 seconds (Settings → Sending; default 10 seconds).
- Schedule send: use the arrow next to Send to pick Later today, Tomorrow, This weekend, Next week or any date and time. Scheduled messages appear in the new Scheduled folder, where you can send now or cancel.
- Snooze: hide a conversation until a chosen time; it comes back to the top of the Inbox as unread. New Snoozed folder.
- Inbox tabs: Primary, Promotions, Social and Updates, sorted automatically when mail arrives. Move a conversation to another tab from the More menu; turn tabs off in Settings.
- Filters: create rules by sender, recipient, subject, words or attachment to label, archive, mark read, star, delete, mark important, choose a tab or never send to Spam — also for mail already in your mailbox.
- Block sender: messages from a blocked address or domain go to Spam, including ones already received.
- One-click unsubscribe: an Unsubscribe button appears on newsletters that support it.
- Vacation responder: automatic away reply with start and end dates, once every 4 days per sender, never to mailing lists; option to reply only to contacts.
- Important: mark conversations as important and find them in the Important folder.
21. About these notes
Indo Mail is released often, and every release is listed here with its date. Each entry says what is new, what changed and what you may need to do. The newest release is first in the list below. Features marked planned are not live yet.
The current release is 1.4. The Android app is version 1.3.0, and the web app, the installed web app and the iPhone build update themselves from indoemail.in. You do not need to do anything to receive web updates: reload the page, or close and reopen the installed app.
22. Release 1.4 (8 October 2026)
Focus: account safety, protection from scams, and better delivery.
- 2-Step Verification. Add a second step to sign-in with any authenticator app that makes six-digit codes (TOTP). Turn it on in Settings. A used code cannot be used twice.
- Sign-in history. See when and from which device your account was used, including failed attempts and changes to your password or 2-Step settings. Find it in Settings → Sign-in history. We keep it for one year. Administrators of a business domain can see it for their own users.
- Scam and phishing warnings. A banner appears on risky messages and lists the reasons in plain words, for example a link that shows one website but opens another, a look-alike sender domain, a request for an OTP or KYC update, or a risky attachment. Press "Report scam" to tell us. See the AI Moderation page for details.
- Mobile number is required at sign-up. It helps us keep accounts safe and recover them. New numbers are saved in a standard format, with +91 assumed for India.
- Admin Customers. Administrators can open a Customers list with each account's type, sign-up date and last sign-in, search it, open one customer's sign-in history, and download the list as a CSV file.
- Monthly customer report. On the 1st of each month at 09:00 IST, a summary of accounts is delivered to the administrators' mailboxes on indoemail.in. It stays on Indo Mail servers.
- Delivery fallback. If our outgoing relay refuses a message, Indo Mail now tries to deliver it directly from mail.indoemail.in, signed with DKIM, so mail is not stuck. The team status page shows the relay state and a live check of outgoing port 25.
- Switchable relay. The team can change the outgoing relay from settings without a new release.
- Policy pages. The legal, privacy, safety, AI and support pages, including this one, are now published at indoemail.in.
- Proposal updated. Milestones were removed from the project proposal, so it now describes the product and plans without dates for later phases.
Please note. Delivery to outside providers (for example other companies' mailboxes) is waiting for approval from Amazon of production sending. Until then, mail between @indoemail.in addresses always works, and outside delivery depends on the fallback path. We will announce here when approval arrives.
23. Release 1.3 (8 October 2026)
Focus: a secure public launch.
- HTTPS only. Plain web addresses redirect to https://indoemail.in. We use TLS 1.2 and 1.3, HTTP/2 and HSTS with preload. www.indoemail.in and mail.indoemail.in lead to the same site.
- Encrypted mail transfer. Other mail servers can connect to us with STARTTLS, using a Let's Encrypt certificate that renews by itself.
- Push notifications. Get an alert on your phone or computer when new mail arrives. Alerts carry only an encrypted notice. Turn them on from the prompt or in Settings.
- Email links. Tapping an email address on a web page or in another app can now open an Indo Mail compose window (mailto: links), on the web, the installed web app, Android and iPhone.
- No demo accounts. The demo accounts were removed from the website and the apps. The old demo page sends visitors to sign-up.
- Stronger browser protection. A stricter Content Security Policy and Permissions Policy, fonts stored on our own servers, and 60-second tickets for the live mail stream.
- Android app 1.3.0. The app was rebuilt from source. It blocks unencrypted connections, supports verified app links and shares through Android, and uses Google Safe Browsing. It needs Android 7.0 or newer and is a signed APK; a Google Play listing is planned.
- Setup checks. Each server release checks the certificate, the web server settings and the starter mailboxes, and reports the result on the team status page.
24. Release 1.2 (5 October 2026)
Focus: 21 apps on one account.
- Indo Mail suite. One sign-in now opens Mail, Drive, Photos, Cloud, Contacts, Files, Maps, Translate, Wallet, Travel, Business Profile, Ads, Ad Manager, Marketing Platform, Local Services Ads, Search Ads, Shopping Ads, Merchant Center, Manufacturer Center, Tag Manager and Indo Chats Ads.
- Indo Drive. Files up to 5 GB each go straight to Amazon S3 in Mumbai in 64 MB parts, with progress, automatic retry and cancel. Downloads and share links are signed. Photos has albums, and the vault keeps private files out of sharing.
- Translate. Translate text between 34 languages with Amazon Translate.
- Maps. Search places and save them, using Amazon Location Service in Mumbai.
- Wallet. Create UPI payment-request links and QR codes in rupees. Indo Mail does not hold money and never sees a UPI PIN.
- Offline bundle. The suite is included in the installed web app, and in the Android app 1.2.0 and the iPhone build. The Android app opens indoemail.in on first launch.
- Ads. Free accounts see contextual ads only. Advertisers can start from ₹1 per click with a minimum daily budget of ₹100, and every ad is reviewed before it runs.
25. Releases 1.0 and 1.1 (5 October 2026)
Focus: the first working service.
- Release 1.0. The first Indo Mail: a free address at indoemail.in, inbox, sent, drafts, archive, spam and trash, labels, threads and search.
- Release 1.1. Personal and business email together. Companies can use their own domain with an admin console and their own DKIM key. The web app, the Android app and the iPhone build arrived.
- Mail basics in both releases. Rich-text compose, Cc and Bcc, 25 MB attachments, auto-saved drafts, undo for archive, delete and spam, real-time delivery, light and dark themes, keyboard shortcuts, and the search operators from:, to:, subject:, has:attachment, is:unread, in: and label:.
- Safety from the start. Incoming mail is checked with SPF, DKIM and DMARC and failures go to Spam. HTML is cleaned, and remote images stay blocked until you allow them. Outgoing mail is DKIM-signed and queued with retries for about three days. There is a limit of 500 messages per account per day.
- Release process. Releases are tested and published automatically, and the server installs them within minutes, with an automatic rollback if a new version does not start.
26. Known limits today
- Outgoing mail to other providers is limited until Amazon approves production sending.
- Online checkout for paid plans is not live yet.
- Not yet available: passkeys, an active sessions screen, filters, undo send, scheduled send, IMAP and SMTP access for other apps, end-to-end encryption, a data export button and the Indo AI assistant. All of these are planned.
- The Android app is installed from a signed file; the Google Play and App Store listings are planned.
