Trademark Policy

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 1.0

Who owns the Indo Mail name and logo, how others may and may not use them, and how to report impersonation, lookalike sender names, ads and profiles that misuse a trade mark, whether it is ours or yours.

1. Overview

A name or logo tells people who they are dealing with. When someone copies it, people can be misled into trusting a message, a shop or a payment request that has nothing to do with the real owner. In email, this is how many phishing scams work.

This policy explains three things: who owns the Indo Mail marks and how they may be used; what we do when someone uses a mark in a way that deceives people; and how to report misuse of your own trade mark on Indo Mail. It applies to Mail, Drive, Photos, Business Profile, Ads and every other part of the service.

It sits beside our Copyright Policy, our DMCA Policy and our Intellectual Property Policy, and the Brand Guidelines for the look and feel of our logo.

2. Who owns the Indo Mail marks

The name Indo Mail, the Indo Mail logo, the names of the apps within it, and the web address indoemail.in are used by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED, a company registered in India (CIN U62012WR2026PTC295588), as marks of its service.

We plan to apply for registration of these marks under the Trade Marks Act, 1999. Applications are planned and are not yet made, and no mark is registered at the date of this policy. Until registration, we rely on the rights that arise from use, including the right to take action for passing off under Indian law. We will update this page when applications are filed and when marks are registered, and we will not use the registered-trade-mark symbol until they are.

Indo Mail is a separate service and is not a part of any other product or brand. Do not describe it as such.

3. Using our marks: what is allowed

You may use the Indo Mail name and logo, without asking, in these ways:

When you use our name in text, spell it as two words, 'Indo Mail', with capital letters, and use our logo only in the form in the Brand Guidelines.

4. Using our marks: what is not allowed

Without our written permission, you must not:

5. Reseller and partner use

If you wish to resell, integrate or promote Indo Mail Business or Enterprise plans, or to use our logo in your materials, write to sales@indoemail.in. Where we agree, we will give you written terms covering how the marks may be used and for how long. Permission can be withdrawn, and any permission is limited to the purposes stated in it.

6. Using other people's marks on Indo Mail

Indo Mail users, advertisers and businesses must not use another person's trade mark in a way that confuses, misleads or takes unfair advantage. In particular:

Using another person's mark to describe their real product, for example 'compatible with X' or 'repair service for X', is generally acceptable if it is truthful and does not suggest an official link.

7. What to report

Please report any of the following to us. They harm our users and the brand owner alike.

What you foundExampleWhere to send it
Impersonation of Indo Mail or its staffAn email claiming to come from 'Indo Mail Security' and asking for your password or OTP.abuse@indoemail.in, marked URGENT.
Lookalike sender name or addressA message whose display name is a well-known bank, but whose address is unrelated to the bank.abuse@indoemail.in, or use the Report scam button.
Misleading adAn ad that copies a brand's name or logo to pull its customers.ads@indoemail.in with the ad's link or a screenshot.
Misleading Business ProfileA profile that uses another company's name, logo or pictures to appear to be it.legal@indoemail.in with proof of your rights.
Lookalike domain or fake websiteA website that copies the sign-in page of indoemail.in.abuse@indoemail.in with the web address.
Misuse of your own registered markA business using your registered trade mark as its name on Indo Mail.legal@indoemail.in with the details in section 8.

8. How to make a trade mark complaint

If someone is using your trade mark on Indo Mail in a way that you believe infringes your rights or is misleading, write to legal@indoemail.in with the subject line Trademark complaint, and include:

Do not send us the entire dossier at once. A clear, short complaint with links is quicker to act on.

9. What happens next

We cannot decide a genuine dispute between two businesses who both claim the right to a name. In such cases, we may act temporarily, for example by pausing the disputed ad, and ask the parties to settle the matter through the Trade Marks Registry, a court or mediation. We will comply with orders of Indian courts and the Trade Marks Registry.

10. Appeals and false complaints

A user whose content is removed because of a trade mark complaint may reply with an explanation and evidence, such as their own registration, licence or proof of earlier use, and ask us to look again. A different reviewer will do so.

Trade mark complaints must be honest. A person who knowingly sends a false or exaggerated complaint, or uses the process to hurt a competitor, may be responsible for the harm caused, and we may refuse their later complaints.

11. Protecting our users from fake Indo Mail messages

Remember that Indo Mail will never ask for your password, OTP, UPI PIN or card details by email, phone or message. Our own messages come from addresses at indoemail.in only, and our website is https://indoemail.in. If a message uses the Indo Mail name but comes from any other address, treat it as fake and report it to abuse@indoemail.in.

Our Wallet creates UPI payment-request links and QR codes. Indo Mail does not hold money and never sees UPI PINs, so any message that claims to hold your funds 'in Indo Mail Wallet' is a scam.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as our trade mark applications are filed and registered. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force.
