Contents

1. Start here: your Indo Mail account

One Indo Mail account signs you in to Mail, Drive, Word, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Calendar, Meet, Photos and every other Indo app.

Create or open your account

  1. Open indoemail.in/signup in your browser.
  2. Choose your address. It ends in @indoemail.in and cannot be changed later.
  3. Enter your own name and add a clear photo of your face. Every new address needs both.
  4. Pick a strong password you do not use anywhere else, and add a recovery email or phone number.
  5. Turn on 2-Step Verification in Settings so a stolen password is not enough to get in.

Open Indo Shield from the apps button to see your security score and which devices are signed in.

The search box at the top of Indo Mail finds mail, people and files. Each app also has its own search.

Find what you need

  1. Click the search box and type a few clear words, such as a name or a subject.
  2. Press Enter, then narrow the results with the filters that appear.
  3. In Indo Photos, search by words, by month or by year. In Drive, search by file name.

Good habits

  • Add a detail such as a date, a company or an invoice number to narrow the results.
  • Be careful with search results on the wider web: check who published a page and when.

3. Indo Mail

Send and receive email, attach files, search your inbox and organise messages with labels and filters.

Send an email

  1. Open indoemail.in and sign in.
  2. Click Compose.
  3. Type the person's address in To. Use Cc only when others should see the copy.
  4. Write a short, clear subject and your message.
  5. Click the paperclip to attach a file. Check the person and the attachment before you send.
  6. Click Send. You can undo for a few seconds, or schedule it for later from the arrow next to Send.

Keep your inbox in order

  • Archive mail you want to keep but not see in the inbox.
  • Use labels to group mail by project or topic, and filters to sort new mail automatically.
  • Snooze a message to bring it back at a better time.
  • Report spam and phishing. Never open an attachment or link you did not expect.

4. Indo Drive

Drive keeps your files safe online, so you can open them on any device and share them with care. Mail, Drive, Photos and Vault share one storage pool.

Upload or create a file

  1. Open Indo Drive from the apps button.
  2. Click New.
  3. Choose New folder to organise, or upload files or a whole folder.
  4. To start a document, spreadsheet or presentation, choose it from the New menu.
  5. Give files clear names and keep them in folders so you can find them later.

Share safely

  1. Select a file or folder and click Share.
  2. Type the person's email address.
  3. Choose whether they can only view or can edit.
  4. Before you copy a link, check who can open it. Turn a link off when it is no longer needed.

Do not make a file open to anyone with the link unless you really want that.

  5. Use comments and suggestions when you review work with other people.
  6. Click Share to choose who can view or edit.
  7. To send a Word file, download it as .docx.

  6. Use filters to show only some rows, and add a chart to see the numbers.
  7. Rename the file and share it with the right people.

  3. Add questions and pick the right type, such as a short answer, Choose one, Choose several, a star rating or a file upload.
  4. Make a question required only when you really need the answer.
  5. Open the form and try it yourself before you share it.
  6. Share the link, then open Responses to see the answers.

Ask only for what you need, tell people how their answers will be used, and do not collect sensitive details without a good reason.

Calendar keeps your events and reminders and sends invitations that work in every calendar app.

  1. Open Indo Calendar.

15. Security, privacy and troubleshooting

A few habits keep your account and files safe.

Protect your account

  • Check the address bar shows indoemail.in before you sign in.
  • Be careful with urgent messages, prizes and attachments you did not expect.
  • Review signed-in devices and connected apps in Settings from time to time.
  • On a shared computer, sign out and do not save the password.

Common problems, first steps

  • Cannot sign in: check the address, the keyboard language and your connection, then use account recovery.
  • Cannot find a file: search Drive by name, and check Shared with me and Trash.
  • Cannot share a file: check you are allowed to share it and your company's rules.
  • A page will not load: check the connection, reload, update the browser or the app.

  • Something looks wrong with your account: open Indo Shield from a trusted device and follow the steps.
